Yes, of course. While we always perform these screenings during regular examinations, if you have noticed anything abnormal, or are worried about anything, then you can call our reception team and book a mouth cancer screening with us as soon as possible.
If we notice anything during a screening that causes us concern, we’ll either ask you back for a follow-up and further tests or refer you to a specialist.
There are a few factors that might make you more at risk of mouth cancer than others. These include being – or having been – a smoker, drinking spirits in large amounts, having had the HPV virus, and having regular exposure to the sun (without SPF protection).
